Today is STILL the first day of the rest of your life!
I cannot believe five years have passed by just like that but at least I have made a move. I left the UK for Brunei a few months ago and I have decided that here is where the work starts.
So here it is. My idea… Hibiscus Grove – an eco-village to demonstrate a natural and sustainable way of life. Its priority is to put the planet first. Does it have to be at the expense of profits? I don’t think so. I want it to be a profitable business too! In statistics this condition is known to be not mutually exclusive. In other words, both can exist at the same time! My intention is to go off-grid. Why not! Electricity, harnessed from clean, renewable sources. Water, drawn from wells, streams, and harvested rainwater. Sustainable buildings, passively designed, of low thermal mass and solar orientation to minimise heat gain meaning little, or no air-conditioning is required. Cooling will be via natural and mechanical means instead. Without air-conditioning our bodies acclimatise to a warmer temperature.
There will be an organic farm making produce that promotes healthy living. Organic fruits and vegetables, organic eggs, probiotics such as kefir, kombucha and fermented foods will be made on site. Bee keeping for forest honey, pollen, beeswax and propolis. Aromatherapy to provide alternative health treatments.
I want you all to visit so I would like to provide countryside farm stays with a yoga and spa retreat. This is my wish list. I cannot promise to do the full monty but it would be a great start!
