I loved reading Aesop’s fables as a child. Most of them taught about morals which is why they were read to children. I read them all to my children except for this one.
This Aesops fable only depicts two ways to run a race and decides that slow and steady wins the race. Personally it’s a dangerous tale to read to young children during their formative years without further elaboration. In my opinion it is setting them up for failure. Surely there are other ways? What if the rabbit started running and did not stop until she crossed the finish line!
So if you have young children, you might want to retell the tale!
